The Thompson Organization is proud to once again participate in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program this year by collecting gifts for underprivileged children in our area. Help us spread the spirit of the holidays by supporting our local children!

Santa's Toy Workshop is Coming to Town | Friday, Nov. 24th through Thursday, Dec. 21st
We all know the most wonderful time of the year can also be the most stressful. With toy assembly becoming more and more like putting together IKEA furniture, it's time for our talented Thompson technicians to lend a hand.

Starting Friday, November 24th and running through Thursday, December 21st, The Thompson Organization will be taking on the role of Santa's Workshop. Rather than shipping the confusing toy parts back to the North Pole, we will be inviting our customers to pop into our Service and Parts Departments with their new gifts and toys for free assembly help. While waiting for their assembled new toy, we also welcome them to donate a gift for our partnership with the Toys for Tots program to ensure that everyone feels the holiday spirit this year. Make sure to spread the word about this great, free service!

T
hompson Lexus Willow Grove Donates Coats to Local Children in Need
On Thursday, October 26th, Thompson Lexus Willow Grove helped deliver over 100 boxes of new winter coats to the Abington YMCA. The coats are part of the Driving Away the Cold campaign organized by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. Since its inception in 2008, the program has distributed over 315,000 new coats to children in need.

"We are proud to have participated in the Driving Away the Cold program for the past eight years," said John Thompson, Vice President of The Thompson Organization. "This year is our first working with the community here in Willow Grove. It's humbling to have the opportunity to touch the lives of local children directly, and to fulfill a need that is often taken for granted."

The Abington YMCA - a branch of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA - serves Abington, Jenkintown, Cheltenham, Willow Grove, Mount Airy and surrounding communities. The coats donated through the Driving Away the Cold program will be distributed to Loaves and Fishes Food Cupboard and First Baptist Church of Crestmont.

"On behalf of the Abington YMCA and the community it serves, I would like to thank Thompson Lexus Willow Grove for transporting over 100 boxes of coats donated by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation," said Missy Di Massa, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA, Abington branch. "The demand for children's coats rises in our community each year, and we are grateful to be able to respond to the need. Without the assistance of Thompson Lexus Willow Grove, it would have been logistically difficult to deliver that many coats to our branch."

Thompson Pledges to Drive Away the Cold
The Thompson Organization is proud to participate in the 2017 Driving Away the Cold effort! As a participating dealer group in this program, we will be donating a brand new winter coat to a local child in need each time a vehicle is sold at our dealerships during the month of September.

Driving Away the Cold is a philanthropic program started in January of 2008 by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, of which we are a member. The program has one simple but very important mission: to provide new winter coats to underprivileged children living in the five-county region of Philadelphia.
